Research Area:
Prognostics and health management of electronic systems; Reliability testing and failure analysis of modern microelectronic packages; Micro- and nano- nondestructive evaluation; Acoustic micro-imaging; Ultrasonic signal/image processing
Research Experience:
Dr Zhang received the MSc and PhD degrees in mechanical engineering in 1996 and 1999, respectively, from Xi’an Jiao Tong University, Xi’an, P.R.China. He jointed Institute of Acoustics, Nan Jing University in 1999, Nan jing, P.R.China. From 2001 to 2003, Dr. Zhang worked at Signals and Systems Group, Uppsala University, Sweden as a postdoctoral fellow and then moved to UK in 2003. He is currently with Liverpool John Moores University, UK where he is the Reader (Associate Professor) in Ultrasonic Engineering.
His current research interests are in prognostics and health management of electronic systems, reliability testing and failure analysis of modern microelectronic packages, micro- and nano- nondestructive evaluation for semiconductor applications, advanced acoustic micro-imaging; sparse signal representations of acoustic signals in overcomplete dictionaries
