Research experience:
Dr. Md Hasinur Rahaman Khan is an associate professor of Applied Statistics at the Institute of Statistical Research and Training (ISRT), University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has been teaching at the University of Dhaka for last 13 years. He achieved his Ph.D. and MSc both in Statistics from the University of Warwick, UK. He published 29 articles and 1 book, 6 R packages. He attended and presented his research work in more than 18 conferences in 14 different countries. He conducted 8 research projects funded by international and national renowned research bodies. His main research area is high-dimensional data analysis, with his main research interest being in variable selection techniques, model selection and also in statistical inference with censored data found in fields including statistical genomics, bioinformatics, biostatistics etc. He is also interested in public health, statistical computing, Bayesian statistics and social statistics areas. He is further interested in statistical consultancy which includes general advice on the application of statistical methods including study design, data analysis and interpretation, and on all statistical aspects of business and academic research. He obtained a number of international and national awards for his research excellence. Notably, he achieved the Scientist award from the International Society for Clinical Biostatistics conference for two consecutive years 2015 and 2016, Dean's honor award from the faculty of science, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh for 2013 and 2015.
