Prof. Jingming Hou,School of Water Resources and Hydro-power,Xi’an University of Technology,China
Research Area:Computational Hydraulics
Research Experience:
Prof. Hou got a PhD in Technical University of Berlin with the dissertation entitled “Robust Numerical Methods for Shallow Water Flows and Advective Transport Simulation on Unstructured Grids” in 2013. From 2013-2016, prof. Hou worked in Newcastle University as a Research Associate for flood modelling. The current research focus on the theoretical development and practical application of mathematical and numerical models of shallow water flows and the associated transport processes for example the sediment and pollutant transport driven by shallow water flows. The robust numerical schemes and the methods accelerating the computation, e.g. GPU techniques, are also the key research interest. Other research filed is about the urban and catchment flood management through using the numerical model, including the LID effect evaluation for sponge city program in China.
