Research Area:
Structural Rehabilitation; Soil Corrosion; Pipeline Engineering; Finite Element Analysis
Research Experience:
Dr.
Lim Kar Sing starts his research journey in 2009 as an assistant research
officer before obtained his Master of Engineering (Structure) in 2012 from
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Malaysia. His Master (by research) was
focusing on the influence of soil properties towards corrosion of underground
pipeline. He later earned his PhD in the field of civil engineering in 2017 from
the same university with the thesis entitled ‘Behaviour Of Repaired Composite Steel Pipeline Using Epoxy Grout As
Infill Material’. He is currently serving as senior lecturer at the Faculty
of Civil Engineering and Earth Resources, Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP),
Malaysia. His primary research interest includes structural rehabilitation, soil
corrosion study, pipeline engineering and finite element analysis. He is
currently the section editor of Malaysian Journal of Civil Engineering (EISSN:
2006-9498) and he also often receives invitation as reviewer for journals and
conferences. Dr. Lim Kar Sing has already published more than 40 articles,
journals and conference proceedings with several best publication and
presentation awards. He has secured more than 10 research grants worth more
than one million Ringgit Malaysia as principle investigator and research
member. His cumulative citation is about 200 (with h-index of 8) in Google Scholar and 100 (with h-index of 6) in Scopus, respectively. As a young researcher, he is
passionate in learning and sharing research experiences and always welcomes
research collaboration from industry and academia.
